Some word trivia for your next coffee conversation

I know I’ve been talking a lot about words and how we should use them wisely. But did you know that there’s a lot you probably don’t know about the surprisingly histories or hidden meanings of words.

Here’s some word trivia for your next coffee conversation:

  • There’s a word for all things breakfast. So, pancakes, eggs, corn flakes, coffee, orange juice. Yep, these breakfast foods are all “jentacular,” which means “pertaining to breakfast”. So, the next time someone makes you breakfast, you can compliment them for making such a great jentacular dish.
  • A single piece of confetti is called confetto, but you’ll never hear it because why would anyone throw just one piece of confetto for a celebration.
  • Walrus literally means whale horse.
  • E is the most commonly used letter in the English language and Q appearing the least.
