Tell me about your job

Talking about work is a great conversation starter. After all, we spend so many hours working each day, so we have plenty to talk about. If the person you’re talking with doesn’t seem to be satisfied with their job, ask them about their dream job.

Q: Tell me about your job.

A: I work as a professional editor and writing coach. On the side, I’m an author and usually spend my off-hours writing my next book. I’ve been an editor for over 10 years and work for multiple author-services companies. I basically edit anything I can get my hands on  (books, newsletters, magazines, articles, proposals, and websites) and have experience working with all sorts of genres. My job aims to improve the overall quality of written content and I have an eye for catching missing commas.

So, what about you? Tell me about your profession?
