With only a few more weeks of summer break, it seems like my little world of lazy mornings and slow-paced days will soon come to an end. Come September, everything is going to be on the clock with school resuming for my son. Although the hustle and bustle can be nice sometimes, I find that type of routine tiring, which is likely why I don’t ever see myself taking a job that doesn’t grant me flexible hours.
Goodbye will be the days when I stay up until 3 am to write. There is no way I’ll be able to wake up to my alarm to get my son ready for school. Starting in September, my son will return to in-person learning, so we can no longer pop out of bed 30-minutes before class and have enough time to eat breakfast, wash up, and make it to the classroom (computer). I was spoiled over the past 2.5 years, wasn’t I?
This will be a true test for time management and for someone who used to be super organized, it shouldn’t be too much of an issue. However, I’m not the same person that I used to be. It’ll be a huge adjustment to rearrange my work schedule and I hope that despite all of this, I can still find time to write, because that is what I love most about my day.
Change is inevitable. Let’s see how I manage and whether I can come out on top.
