Any conversation about work is going to get people talking. After all, they spend so many hours of their day working. Asking someone about how they got into their career opens up the door to discuss their educational past. Many people are proud of their education, so this is a nice causal topic to get people chatting.
Q: How did you get into your career?
A: I always enjoyed writing, but never thought it could be a career option, so I didn’t pursue it until after I graduated from university. I decided to become an editor because I like the flexibility of the position. The bigger author services company I work for now was an opportunity that came about because someone read my back cover bio and found out I was an editor. They offered me a position to join their team, so that was exciting!
So, how did you get into your profession?
