I’m just 2-weeks away from my book launch and I can’t say enough about the wonderful people at Self-Publishing School (SPS).
If you’re looking to self-publish your book and want a school that offers courses that walk you through the book creation (and publication) process, then SPS is the place for you. You are assigned a coach to help you along the way who actually works 1-on-1 with you. Typically, calls are once every 3-4 weeks, with the exception at the beginning when you are ironing out details and at the end when you’re preparing for book launch. They have specific coaches that match your writing genre so they can properly help you along the way.
This school has grown so much since I first started back in 2019. Now they have a lot more events happening to engage their students and live group coaching calls as well.
Although the course material was very thorough and organized, and having a personal coach to help you is a nice touch to the process, the best part about joining SPS is actually the community you become a part of.
Honestly, I’m not a huge Facebook fan. My favourite social media is still Instagram. However, joining SPS gives you exclusive access to their Facebook group which is a wonderful community of like-minded people. If you have a writing, editing, or self-publishing question, you can easily post and someone is bound to answer. If nobody answers the question, you can tag admin and they will work on helping you find an answer. The response is quite amazing and you’re bound to make friends along the way who typically response to your posts.
I have months when I’m rarely online and other months when I’m an avid Facebooker, but no matter how often you post, you will get someone engaging in your post, which is a great feeling to know that you are being heard.
Sometimes, as writers, we have those moments when everything feels like it’s falling apart or we suddenly are suffering from writer’s block or imposter syndrome. Well, the SPS community is here to help. I’ve seen many SPS students post about how they feel like quitting or life is horrible and the positive vibes that are commented on those posts are unreal. This group really supports each other.
The other benefit of joining SPS is gathering people for your launch team, which is an important step for a successful book launch. This is also a great place to ask for opinions for book covers, suggestions for editors or formatters, and also just to celebrate successes.
SPS is a great school and I’m so glad that I enrolled in their program. I’m counting down the days. I can’t believe my book launches in 2-weeks! Stay tuned!
