It’s been just over a year since the COVID pandemic started and after being in lockdown for this long, I’ve come to realize that we are all very lucky individuals. If something like this happened many years ago, can you imagine how we would operate meetings, attend school, or even communicate with family. Zoom calls didn’t exist back then, so it was virtually impossible to meet with someone virtually unless it was via a telephone call.
It’s quite impressive how far we’ve come in the digital era. There are countries that have gone beyond Zoom calls and are operating businesses completely remote with robots packing everything at their facilities.
Honestly, what I’m most thankful for is the creation of video chat because without it, I feel that social interactions may be a lot more challenging. It’s so much easier to talk with someone when you can see them. Their expressions are a part of a conversation and speaking via phone removes it. For work, we rely heavily on Zoom calls because that is the only way we can connect everyone globally in one place.
Technology is amazing. It’s one of the few things in life that allows you to travel to another place within seconds.
