This week, I’ve been participating in Self-Publishing School’s Full-time Author Challenge inspired me to enroll in the 30-day social media challenge.
The main takeaway so far from the Author Challenge event was to have consistency, to keep writing, and to embrace marketing. All along, I always thought the key characteristics of becoming a full-time author were hard work, drive, and willingness to learn. That actually comes second. So, with much to work on, I decided to take the next 30 days to reflect (and take action) on my author goals.
On July 22nd, I started this challenge and so far, I’ve managed to stay on top of everything.
My goals in this challenge are:
- Consistency: To post at least 1 post every day for 30-days on the social media platform I am most comfortable with, which is Instagram.
- Keep Writing: To build and launch my blog on my website.
- Embrace Marketing: To learn one new platform that matches my target audience.
Admittedly, this is an ambitious challenge, given my already busy workload from my editing day job. However, as Emily McGregor once said, “we are the promises that we keep,” so with this in mind, I’m going to give it my all and make it to that finish line!
I’m excited to see if posting consistently for 30 days would improve my engagement and following.
