Meet Ryan Walker
Sonder - Track 11 - Arcanum
Krishna, known professionally as Ryan Walker, is a producer from New Delhi, India. Ryan loves singing and released several vocal tracks; his first release was in 2018 called “teri hi yaadon mein,” produced by his late friend Grey. He started producing his own music in 2019 and released a track called “get you the moon,” which features his vocal capabilities.
Ryan’s music can be described as lofi/pop, created using original melodies on keys or strings. His favourite releases were the ones in 2020: EP Songs for Her and album To My Younger Self. Since then, Ryan has collaborated with many artists and released under some big labels.
I connected with Ryan through Andy Quan, who collaborated with him for several tracks, including “memories of her, last decade.” His 2021 EP Songs for Us caught my eye, and I found myself drawn to his songs’ emotions and catchy melodies. When I reached out to Ryan about the Sonder project, he immediately felt a connection with my project since he’s an individual who appreciates poetry. We discovered through conversation that we’re both huge Zack Grey fans; plus, Ryan aspires to publish his own play scripts one day. I decided to assign Ryan the theme of ‘Strength & Courage,’ since his music shows progression and growth, just like his musical career.
“Arcanum,” which refers to the power of our strength as something mysterious, is the name of his track on Sonder. Ryan started with a melody and then layered that melody with instruments that he felt portrayed the feelings of strength and courage. His track captures the feelings of internal struggle, reflection, and encouragement beautifully.
Ryan hopes to continue creating music and compete with big artists in the future.
