Wise Up, Stand Up
101 Words of Wisdom

When you read quotes, it’s like having a conversation with friends since it can be done anywhere, and at any time you need it. Your words can speak louder than your words if you use them wisely.

Doris Siu
Doris is a Canadian bestselling author and editor based in Toronto with a passion for harnessing the beauty of words with music. Growing up, Doris was shackled to the library, falling in love with the illustrations in children’s books, the well-developed characters in novels, and the sophisticated language in poetry.
She is an avid volunteer in her community, and proudly supports cancer research. Doris’s debut novel, Hold on please, Emily, features her song lyrics and is connected to her #HoldOnPleaseEmily Campaign.
Doris was a geomatics researcher prior to becoming a professional editor. She mainly wrote research papers and technical reports at that time and even published her award-winning research in several prestigious journals. Doris fondly remembers spending several hours of her day flying in helicopters or battling black bears in blueberry fields hidden within northeastern Ontario’s forests.
When she isn’t writing, she enjoys spending time with her son (who is her greatest inspiration). Doris has a strong obsession for rabbits and kawaii drawings. Her form of relaxation is listening to music, doodling, and watching a drama or hockey game.
She hopes to continue writing books while collaborating with artists to create music that accompanies them. Doris does her best writing at 3 a.m. in the morning with, of course, the help of coffee and music. Check out her blog to learn more about Doris.
