Sonder - Track 06 - Lotus Blossom
Matthew Isaacs, known professionally as Kromatix_, is a soul musician from Toronto, Canada. From learning the piano at the age of eight, the musician inside of him was born. Kromatix_’s songs typically feature impactful feel-good lyrics with a jazzy vibe.
In 2021, Kromatix_ debuted with his first single, “Show U Off,” followed by his first solo EP, Thoughts & Afflictions. I even had the privilege of collaborating with him in 2021 when we released Hold on please, Emily: Songs of Hope to accompany my own debut bestselling novel, Hold on please, Emily.
I have known Kromatix_ since 2017 as my son’s piano teacher through Ignite Learning. Although I was unaware of his musical background when we first met, I was mesmerized by his talents—it was like his fingers were an extension of the keyboard.
I was thrilled to have Kromatix_ collaborate again for the Sonder project. The theme of ‘Self-love & Acceptance’ was assigned to him because I felt that his lyrical music connected deeply with this theme.
“Lotus Blossom,” which means new beginnings, is the name of his track in Sonder. For this track, Kromatix_ interpreted the word ‘self-love’ as something that blossoms, like a flower, and captured the blossoming effect using rhythmic, positive vibes typically found in lofi funk. In Buddhism, the lotus symbolizes peace, rebirth, and self-growth of one’s soul.
Kromatix_ has aspirations to share his music on tour and to have his music in movies, TV, and campaigns.
