Sonder - Track 01 - Infinite Change
Jeffrey U. Valdez, known professionally as with me, with you, is a music producer from Puyallup, Washington who started his music career in 2019 when confronted with a bout of boredom. Although with me, with you played piano in his earlier years, ordering an AKAI Mini keyboard that day, unmistakably triggered his fascination with music production.
Despite not grasping all the intricacies of music production at first, with me, with you had a lot of fun experimenting in FL Studio, releasing 60+ beats under the name Jeffu in 2020. His first album, Dazed, featured a song called “Champagne,” which remains one of his all-time favourite releases.
In 2021, Jeffu found his new musical direction and transitioned to the artist name with me, with you, which he releases under today. His debut single, “somewhere in the stars,” shares a tale about a distressed traveler and is a part of a music and storytelling project that involves the creation of songs inspired by short stories he has written. This project was actually how I stumbled across his music; I felt that the synergy of literature and music was similar to my approach as an author. with me, with you’s music is broadly classified as lofi and described as relaxing, peaceful, and chill with energetic beats.
“Infinite Change” is with me, with you’s track in Sonder. For this track, he interpreted the theme of ‘Self-improvement & Growth’ as something positive; his positive attitude towards growth stems from his own experience as a music producer. Positive feelings were captured in this song using a high octave melody and a distinct bell tone. Even the main instruments (light-sounding piano and Rhodes) gave the song a happier, feel-good vibe.
with me, with you hopes to continue exploring music production, creating beats, and sharing his creative writing with everyone. His dream is to create music that will be timeless; with his appreciation for self-improvement, this dream will be within his reach.
